Small World

This is one of the things why I love being here. When you ride the tube and look to your left, you’ll hear 2 women speaking in French. When you look to your right, you’ll see a family of 5 speaking in German. When you get off the tube, you’ll pass my people speaking in Russian, Greek, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Malaysian, Talagalog, Romanian, Italian…etc.

I just feel so alive being surrounded by so many different people. I’d like to be given the opportunity to learn something new about them – their culture, their country…anything.

It’s just a nice feeling to know that the world isn’t really that big when you think about it. I find this calming. We can fly to wherever we want to go anytime. I think its just a choice – you can choose to continually fantasize about going to a different place or find a way to make it happen.

I love meeting new people and experiencing new things xxx

Londrès

I’m finally in London! I arrived four days ago [April 26]. Let me first tell you guys about my flight experience. My flight from Manila to Hong Kong got super delayed. They said the they had to undergo some technical difficulties so they had to check the plane a billion times to make sure that it would fly smoothly. My connecting flight from HK to LDN is scheduled 2:40pm. I arrive HK 2:40pm. No worries though, I didn’t miss my flight. I knew that there would be Cathay Pacific attendants ushering us to the right gates. I just didn’t like to run in the airport. I wanted to look around. HAHA

So, obviously my flight to LDN got delayed as well. I finished baggage claim and went through immigration at 11pm. My mom’s friend met me at the arrival lounge. We had no time to say hi to each other. He just told me to run because we had to catch the last tube. Unfortunately, we didn’t make it so we rode the night bus instead.

We arrived at Notting Hill at 1am. Let me just tell you, the wind was so refreshing. I didn’t want to wear my jacket. I just wanted to embrace the cold and thank God that I finally made it to London safely. Needless to say, I fell asleep right away.

For the past days, I’ve been touring the city. I’ve seen mostly all the famous places; I’m already happy. Tomorrow, I officially start with my internship with Trisha, my blockmate. Can’t wait! xxx

Graduation Day

Earlier today, my brother graduated for the second time from the Saint Louis University. He has two degrees now: BS Accountancy and BS Management 🙂

Image

He is one of the smartest people I know. All throughout elementary and highschool, my brother represented his school in various competitions in math, journalism, science…you name it. He was the valedictorian when he graduated from 6th grade. He ranked 3rd among all Philippine Science High School passers when he took the exam. My brother sometimes writes for our newspaper too. Although when he got older, he got more lax, he still manages to show how brilliant he is. He’s like one of those people who don’t really have to study much to get high grades. All that smart stuff is all him.

I’ve seen him struggle a lot, but when he sees me and my sister looking at him, he immediately puts a smile on his face just to let us know that he’s okay and to give us an example that if he can do it, so can we. He’s such a good brother 🙂

You have no idea how proud I am off you, Kuya, and to be able to call you my brother is a great pleasure. Congratulations! You’re finally done! I pray that you be smart in life and make the right decisions, that you be happy always, that you’re friends will always be there for you, and that you will be able to find what you want to do with your life. I love you, Kuya. huggles mmmmmm ❤

Maroon 5

Now before you go on thinking about their sexy lead vocalist, Adam Levine, and get lost in thought, let me first introduce the other band members who play their musical instruments briliantly. There’s James Valentine – lead guitarist, Michael Madden – bassist, Matt Flynn – drummer and Jesse Carmichael – keyboardist.

Although you cannot deny how wonderful Adam sings, I just love how differently their music sounds. I love how they sometimes put a jazzy feel in their songs. Each strum of the guitar is very specific. Each beat from the drum is so powerful and yet not too overwhelming. The way they play their instruments just jive with each other very well – not like any rock or RNB music.

Moving on, here are my TOP 10 favorite songs by Maroon 5.

London Calling

When I was aroud 7 years old, I discovered a whole new world through the amazing Harry Potter series (and no, I’m not just talking about the Wizarding World). I realized that it wasn’t just my own small town called Baguio and  the United States that were listed on a map. I came to realize that England was part of it.

I fell in love with England first. Russia came second; France came third. I don’t know eactly why I loved England at first (Well, besides the fact that I thought all the withces and wizards waving their wands and riding their brooms that I’ve read about in books were all true. Of course anything seems to be true at that young age.) I think because I thought there is someplace out there that I am not familiar with, and I wanted to know what it is.

For years I’ve dreamt of going to England (or anywhere in the UK) and finally see for myself what I’ve always longed to see. I want to feel the culture and breathe in the history. I want to walk down the streets, ride the tube, ride the London Eye, meet the queen (if that’s even possible haha). I’ve always had it in my head that I would go there alone sometime in the future – no matter how far into the future it may be. One day, I promised myself to check it off the list.

And now, I finally can. In a couple of days I’ll be on a plane headed for London. You have no idea how excited I am. Of course, I don’t show my excitement to anyone. Inside, fireworks are going off as I type this. and this. and this. BOOM.

I love my parents for supporting me through all this despite having two other children. My mom says I’m their most expensive child – with me going off to France last year and having to study in Manila mehehe. I cannot express how grateful I am to have my family behind me all the way. I will make you proud, mom and dad.

London in a few days. DAYS. Wish me luck! xxx

Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum

for Larrisa Ann

Larrisa and i became friends in high school. I was a senior and she was a freshman. Up to this day, we have no idea how we became friends. She said that I was mean to her before. I don’t remember anything. All I remember was before we became close, I’d just pass by her in the hallway, maybe give a smile. That’s it.

The first time I actually got to talk to her was the first time I went to her house with two of my teammates in volleyball. She just lives in front of our school, and after training, we decided to give her visit. It was kind of an awkward visit because I really didn’t have much to say to her. All I could say was, “Wow! You have a nice house”.

Still, the part of how we became super tight is still fuzzy. We became friends nonetheless.

She is the ONLY person I can go up to and just talk about anything under the sun. She takes in all the bullshit I give her and she doesn’t judge me at all. I am thankful to the heavens above that we met. You see, I have a number of close friends, but I choose the information I am willing to share with them. So, my college friends know stuff my high school friends don’t. My dance friends know stuff that my college friends don’t. (You get the idea). With Larrisa, she knows everything about me. I guess it’s good to have someone like that in your life. I’m happy I have her in mine.

I wouldn’t know how to survive every breakdown/tantrum/breakup/ kilig moment without her. She keeps me in check. She gives amazing advice and comfort. I just know that she would beat up whoever pissed me off, and I would do the same too.

She’s been in USA since December 20, 2011 (I think) and she’s finally coming back home! I can’t wait to see her and just finally tell her everything personally. (It’s hard to tell stories through the internet HAHA It’s hard to convey emotions) I can’t wait to judge her on how girly she is now and listen to her slight American accent. 😛

So, (belated) happy birthday! I can’t wait to see you. I wish all the best in life and know that I will forever and always be right behind you no matter what. You know we hate the term, but you are my best friend. I’m glad we crossed paths. You have been so patient with me, and I thank God everyday that he has wrote it in our lives that we would meet. Thank you so much for everything!

When you’re off studying in LA, I’ll find a way to visit (I think my parents won’t exactly be willing to fund for that trip HAHA). As for relationships, I just hope you don’t rush into love right away. It’ll come, don’t worry. We’ll do all the things we planned to do, no matter how crazy they may be.

I love you to the moon and back 🙂
